SUMMARY:TSMS Auditor Certification Course
DESCRIPTION:TSMS Auditor Certification Course – 3 DAY COURSE \nOur TSMS Auditor Certification Course is for auditors who wish to become certified by TVIB to perform audits of Towing Safety Management Systems to verify compliance with Subchapter M. The American Waterways Operators (AWO) Responsible Carrier Program (RCP) has been approved by the Coast Guard as approved existing safety management system\, and as such\, this auditing course will cover some elements of the RCP as well. This is the appropriate class mentioned in the TVIB Auditor Membership Application as needed prior to obtaining an auditor credential. \nThis course focuses on training both internal and third party auditors how to use the TVIB audit process\, which was developed to meet ISO 19011 Guidelines for Auditing Management Systems\, and tailored for the unique situations auditing under Subchapter M and the RCP. It covers auditing both management system and the vessels that operate under those systems. It is open to members and non-members alike. This course is a hybrid of online and in-classroom learning\, with many practical exercises designed to allow students to practice all aspects of auditing. Course attendees will also take an online session prior to coming to class. \nRegister \nWho Should Attend \n\nAuditors who wish to become certified by TVIB to perform American Waterways Operators (AWO) Responsible Carrier Program (RCP) audits and Subchapter M TSMS audits. If you’re interested in certification\, you will need to complete and submit the auditor member application and application fee. Your application must be screened by the TVIB Certification Committee and approved prior to attending the course. SUMMARY:Annual Survey of Towing Vessels course
DESCRIPTION:Course Description – 4 DAY COURSE \nOur Subchapter M Annual Survey of Towing Vessels course provides surveyors with the knowledge and skills required to perform TVIB TPO Subchapter M annual surveys of towing vessels. It has been designed to teach those who will be performing surveys as a part of an internal survey program\, as well as those surveyors who wish to hold the credential to perform external surveys for TVIB. Everyone who successfully completes the course will receive a course completion certificate. \nCourse attendees who wish to receive the Certified Subchapter M Surveyor for Annual Surveys credential also need to submit a complete application PRIOR to attending the course. The applicant’s credentials and work experience will be reviewed by the TVIB Surveyor Certification Subcommittee to confirm the applicant meets the requirements to become a TVIB Certified Surveyor. Upon successful completion of the course\, approval by the TVIB Membership Committee\, and receipt of the first year of membership dues\, TVIB will submit the applicant to the USCG for final approval as qualified to perform work on behalf of TVIB in its role as a TPO. \nPLEASE NOTE: This class is being held in conjunction with our Subchapter M TSMS Auditing course. If you are interested in taking both courses\, please be sure to check the box on the registration page for the 5 day session that includes both auditing and surveying courses. \nRegister \nWho Should Attend \nInternal Surveyors: This course is designed for individuals seeking training for Internal Surveyors as specified in section 137.315 – Internal Survey Programs\, and are looking to become proficient at at conducting Subchapter M compliant internal surveys under the oversight of a Third Party Organization “TPO.” \nThird Party Surveyors: This course is also for those surveyors who wish to become a TVIB Certified Subchapter M Surveyor for Annual Surveys\, which is required to perform work for TVIB as a TPO surveyor.
